AGELESS MEMORIES
07.22.04 (7:43 pm)   [edit]
why is it that sometimes the floodgates of memories spill open and things you once thought were buried deep come rushing out

the old feelings, smells, and sounds as well as thoughts

i have this one memory, later in life i was told i was about two and living in Turkey

i see green every where
there is a small bit of light shining down behind me
i hear this giggle
i feel this slimey thing in my hand
i look down
i have a tiny frog in my hand
i remeber hearing someone cough
then my hand gets all wet
the frog jumps away and i cry

is it not weird how you can remeber these things from long ago...

I hate when memories just pop into my head. I'd like to keep them locked in boxes in the back of my brain. Cool Blog by the way

I enjoy when a memory forces its way into my mind by a faint smell, a song, a sound, a similar look or act, a mannerism, a feel... uninvited, it rapes your mind and makes you feel it whether you want to or not. This song you are playing... Closer... brings of... too many such moments and I welcome them. Well done.

and the price of a memory is the memory of the sorrow it brings

Or the pleasure of it, depending on the memories your mind leaps to. Must it be so that the mind stays within the negative confines of theat memory? If you travel backward, there must also be some good, some pleasure attached to it?
